Reference Scripture:
And he said, I will make all my goodness pass before thee, and I will proclaim the name of the LORD before thee; and will be gracious to whom I will be gracious, and will shew mercy on whom I will shew mercy. (Exodus 33:19)
And Jesus, immediately knowing in himself that virtue had gone out of him, turned him about in the press, and said, Who touched my clothes? (Mark 5:30)
More than one person touched Yeshua that day and no doubt there were many incidental touches throughout his time on earth but only one lady is memorialized for drawing virtue from the Lord by one touch. Why? Because she had faith and knowledge of his word and she acted upon it without fear. While she was disobedient to the law of rituals she was obedient to the law of faith. The Father rewards faith with his goodness grace and his faithfulness. Like Peter with his confession of Yeshua’s Messiahship, flesh and blood did not reveal this lady’s plan to get her deliverance and be remembered for it throughout time. Moshe was in the presence of YHWH within the cloud and had conversation with him and in the 17th verse of Exodus the 33rd chapter it is written that the Lord said this to Moshe, “ And the LORD said unto Moses, I will do this thing also that thou hast spoken: for thou hast found grace in my sight, and I know thee by name. (Exodus 33:17)”. He told Moshe “I know thee by name”. YHWH knows everything, why did He say this? I know thy name is an expression of intimacy and deep relationship. Moses had proved to be “all in” with the Father, obedient and never reluctant to obedience. YHWH expressed this to Moshe showing his Love to him and granted to Moshe more goodness grace and faithfulness by allowing Moshe to see him pass by in his Glory. YHWH said something similar to Abraham when Abraham was obedient enough to sacrifice his only son which was a figure of what YHWH himself would do. “And he said, Lay not thine hand upon the lad, neither do thou any thing unto him: for now I know that thou fearest God, seeing thou hast not withheld thy son, thine only son from me. (Genesis 22:12)”.
Does he know your name. Lots of people say they know him but do you really, do you know him of just know of him. Don’t wait until it’s too late as many will. Yeshua said “ Many will say to me in that day, Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in thy name? and in thy name have cast out devils? and in thy name done many wonderful works? And then will I profess unto them, I never knew you: depart from me, ye that work iniquity (self righteous sin). (Matthew 7:22-23)”. You must work out your salvation, having made sure your relationship with the Father Son and the Holy Spirit.
YHWH had established a relationship with Moshe, like with Abraham Issac and Jacob after him. It was a Father son relationship, it was God to his Prophet and Lord to a steward relationship. Sanctification is a relationship with the Father in moving away from the world or worldliness and a moving toward YHWH, just as holiness is a moving away from sin and moving towards YHWH. Moshe had gotten so close to YHWH yet not to become common with him but in His favor. Enoughto ask him to see his face and for mercy for the people whom the Lord was ready to consume. When you have favor with YHWH you experience his goodness, his grace and his faithfulness. You will also receive an endowment of these precious gifts. We have testimony from those patriarchs who were found in his favor. The woman with the issue is counted in this highly favored position.
As it was in the Tanakh so it is in the present, there is nothing new under the sun. YHWH saw the bondage and troubles of the Hebrews and brought them out with a mighty hand. With power miracles and wonders. He did the same for us through Yeshua. We were enslaved and in bondage to the flesh, sin and the enemy, encompassed on all sides without hope. “That at that time ye were without Christ, being aliens from the commonwealth of Israel, and strangers from the covenants of promise, having no hope, and without God in the world: (Ephesians 2:12)”. We were blind and could not see (perceive and understand ) YHWH. We heard of him and even went to Church but we had no relationship with Jehovah M'Kaddesh (The Lord Who Sanctifies).
Many of the Hebrews did not make it to the promised land because of sin. Some fell because of idolatry, some failed because they desired to be back in Egypt, all disobedience is sin. Some failed because of “lack of knowledge, “¶ My people are destroyed for lack of knowledge: because thou hast rejected knowledge, I will also reject thee, that thou shalt be no priest to me: seeing thou hast forgotten the law of thy God, I will also forget thy children. (Hosea 4:6)”.They would not hear the truth from the Prophets but preferred to lean to their own understanding that is not connected to the truth of Yeshua. They even went as far as killing the prophets. Many people today have fallen under the same yoke of worldliness and carnality. It’s the same sin just dressed up differently. The spiritual eye can see it. “And when the people saw that Moses delayed to come down out of the mount, the people gathered themselves together unto Aaron, and said unto him, Up, make us gods, which shall go before us; for as for this Moses, the man that brought us up out of the land of Egypt, we wot not what is become of him. (Exodus 32:1)”. “For as in the days that were before the flood they were eating and drinking, marrying and giving in marriage, until the day that Noe entered into the ark, And knew not until the flood came, and took them all away; so shall also the coming of the Son of man be. (Matthew 24:38-39)”.
Be careful not to corrupt yourself with worldly things and worldly people who will cause you to turn to sin. Their vices may be stronger than your virtue if you are not grounded and rooted in Yeshua. Paul warned the Saints to not be yoked again with the bondage that Yeshua delivered you from. The problem is that many won’t admit their faults because they can’t see them, they can’t see them because they are as James said” holding up a mirror to themselves instead of holding it up to the revealed word of YHWH. “For if any be a hearer of the word, and not a doer, he is like unto a man beholding his natural face in a glass: (James 1:23)”. We must live a holy Christ-like life and not just talk it or live it according to our understanding. Too many are saying “ it doesn’t take all that” or it’s alright to indulge a little. The Lord said, touch not the unclean thing.
