The Formula for Victory

Then said Jesus to those Jews which believed on him, If ye continue in my word, then are ye my disciples indeed; And ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free. ¶ They answered him, We be Abraham’s seed, and were never in bondage to any man: how sayest thou, Ye shall be made free? Jesus answered them, Verily, verily, I say unto you, Whosoever committeth sin is the servant of sin. And the servant abideth not in the house for ever: but the Son abideth ever. If the Son therefore shall make you free, ye shall be free indeed. (John 8:31-36)

We find Yeshua in this discourse to some Jews who were not mixing his divine precepts with faith. Hearing the Word must be done with a receptive heart as a seed must be planted into rich and ready soil.  The Word must be received and tucked into the inner sanctum of your heart to be germinated with sincere action upon it.  Yeshua says  “But he answered and said, It is written, Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceedeth out of the mouth of God. (Matthew 4:4)”.  Every precept, every commandment, every judgment and every testimony of YHWH,  live by it. Yeshua fulfilled the laws of ceremonies by being the perfect sacrifice , the spotless lamb to appeased the Fathers wrath.  He saved us through his omniscient knowledge of the Father’s will.  He didn’t need to be asked to prepare himself to be our propitiation, his obedience to the Father propelled him to do it.  Obeying outside of the ceremonial law adhering to the statutes, commandments, judgments and testimonies still seems like a daunting task, the disciples did not see how it could be done.  In the context of the discourse that Yeshua had with the rich man who obeyed the Law explains what it takes to enter into the Kingdom.  Yeshua told him,  “in other words”, your heart has to be in it and you need help from the Father.   “When his disciples heard it, they were exceedingly amazed, saying, Who then can be saved? But Jesus beheld them, and said unto them, With men this is impossible; but with God all things are possible. (Matthew 19:25-26)”.  Yeshua also revealed that all of the Law can be fulfilled in Love. “Jesus said unto him, Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind. This is the first and great commandment. And the second is like unto it, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself. On these two commandments hang all the law and the prophets. (Matthew 22:37-40)”. Paul was a second witness to the fact. “For all the law is fulfilled in one word, even in this; Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself. (Galatians 5:14)”.

Yeshua made us free, he made us free from sin and the bondage that comes with it.  This is the liberty that we have.  We are not longer subject to the law of sin.  We are no longer chained to strongholds that keep men bound under spiritual, mental and physical bondage. We are not bound to substance abuse and the rudiments of the earth, we are not bound to death.  Those things have no power over the Saint.  On the contrary, Yeshua gave us power over those things.  But because of a lack of knowledge and discipline many get themselves bound up and shackled while have wings to soar like an eagle, they crawl and stumble sinking into quicksand,  the snares of the enemy.  The Holy Spirit through the Apostle Paul reminds us “Stand fast therefore in the liberty wherewith Christ hath made us free, and be not entangled again with the yoke of bondage. (Galatians 5:1)”. The Lord makes a way of escape from sin. “There hath no temptation taken you but such as is common to man: but God is faithful, who will not suffer you to be tempted above that ye are able; but will with the temptation also make a way to escape, that ye may be able to bear it.(I Corinthians 10:13”.  We are free not to sin.  When we walk in the Spirit, we don’t fulfill the lust of the flesh.  It is not an effortless action.  As the seed planter it must be tended with detailed attention so that YHWH will water it.  “We look toward the hills from whence cometh our help.”  Yeshuamade us free to know theTruth, Him.  Too many are on shaky ground following traditions of men instead of following Yeshua. The way of YHWH is easy.  People take the fun out of life,  people make things complicated, all for their glory , they make living for YHWH difficult.  Yeshua says “Take my yoke upon you, and learn of me; for I am meek and lowly in heart: and ye shall find rest unto your souls. For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light. (Matthew 11:29-30)”.

King David was wise when it comes to liberty in the Lord.  He is described as a man after the heart of YHWH, meaning that he trusted and leaned on the Lord for his life.  He clung onto the Lord.  It was his mission in life to do the will of YHWH and to see his face.  He had an effective formula.  This  was David’s formula for being kept by YHWH.  “And I will walk at liberty: for I seek thy precepts. I will speak of thy testimonies also before kings, and will not be ashamed. And I will delight myself in thy commandments, which I have loved. My hands also will I lift up unto thy commandments, which I have loved; and I will meditate in thy statutes. (Psalms 119:45-48)”.  I would encourage everyone who really wants to know how to be in a “Kept”state in YHWH, especially younger Saints, studyall of Psalm 119.  There are many examples in the Psalms where David testifies of his commitment  to the Statutes, commandments judgments and testimonies of  YHWH.   The result isfree and willing worship, pleasure in praise to YHWH,relentless prayer, seeking the depths of his Word.  Then  YHWHwill perform in you his will and power and of course abundant and eternal life.  We constantly need instruction,  building up, growth andSpiritual vitalization.  Rejecting instruction results in complacency stagnation and a dry spirit.  Yielding and understanding the Word and not just quoting , reciting or putting your own interpretation  to it puts one in right standing with YHWH.

We have a liberty also the Praise YHWH.  You have a right to enter into the (Holy of Holies)through the sacrifice of  Yeshua but if you have not sanctified yourself through repentance, receiving his Holy Spirit and adhering to his statutes, commandments, judgments and testimonies then access will be denied. When you apply these disciplines to your walk in Yeshuathe Lord will pour out his Grace on you and you will “do exploits”.  You will always have testsand trial but you will be victorious at every turn.  Lean on YHWHand not on excuses.  When you are in his will he covers you, he provides for you, he equips you witheverything that you need and gives you the desires of your heart.  But if you don’t apply the formula the composition will not be fruitful.  Try David’s formula and you will have success! “And he shall be like a tree planted by the rivers of water, that bringeth forth his fruit in his season; his leaf also shall not wither; and whatsoever he doeth shall prosper. (Psalms 1:3)”.
