Reference Scripture:
The LORD is my shepherd; I shall not want. He maketh me to lie down in green pastures: he leadeth me beside the still waters. He restoreth my soul: he leadeth me in the paths of righteousness for his name’s sake. Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil: for thou art with me; thy rod and thy staff they comfort me. Thou prepares a table before me in the presence of mine enemies: thou anointest my head with oil; my cup runneth over. Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life: and I will dwell in the house of the LORD for ever. (Psalms 23:1-6)
The word that YHWH has given to us is a song and poetry in many cases, especially of course in the book called Psalms. I have copied Psalm 23 and written it here as it is written in the interlinear Bible which merely transfers the wording from the original Hebrew and the Greek in their original word order.
A Psalm of David.
Jehovah is my Shepard
not shall I lack
in pastures of green grass He makes me to lie down
to waters of rest
My soul he restores;
He guides me in the path of righteousness for sake His name’s
When I am walking in the valley of the shadow of death not will I fear evil
for you are with me
Your rod and your staff
They comfort me
You prepare before me a table before my enemies
You anointed with oil my head
My cup runs over
Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life
and I shall dwell in the house of Jehovah for the length of days.
In some places it may be difficult to read because of the grammatical differences of the language but if you listen very hard to the meter and the tone of the poetry it will give you cause to meditate, absorb and appreciate it’s meaning, intent and prophetic sense. We must always hear and see the voice of the Word of YHWH in it’s context. The context of the time, the place and the people. We won’t dissect it all hear but let us focus on “My soul he restores”. The Lord is faithful to us and to his word. There are many benefits and guarantees to those who believe, have a clean heart and who diligently seek to be in his will and earnestly seek what His daily will is for them. Some of the promises (covenants, binding contracts) are conditional just as a natural or legal contract. You must perform your part of the contract otherwise it us void. One thing that The Lord promises is to restore not only Israel but also the believer and not only in the new Heavens and earth but in this earth. The weary soul will be encouraged, the sick body will be healed the troubled mind will have rest as David experienced and meant when he said “My soul he restores”. It is because David (Loving) loved YHWH. The Lord will refine and restore you to the place where he intends you to be. Look unto the hills, His Holy Mountain to obtain favor and grace. Like with David, he will reach down from Heaven with his loving arms, brush you off and set you on a path of prosperity(mind body and spirit.)
YHWH promised Israel that he would restore the faithful and the believing. He is the refiner and the restorer, it is YHWH that made all things. Through Isaiah (the seeing eye prophet) he also spoke of restoring the people and the true believers can glean from this:
For thus saith the high and lofty One that inhabited eternity, whose name is Holy; I dwell in the high and holy place, with him also that is of a contrite and humble spirit, to revive the spirit of the humble, and to revive the heart of the contrite ones. For I will not contend for ever, neither will I be always wroth: for the spirit should fail before me, and the souls which I have made. For the iniquity of his covetousness was I wroth, and smote him: I hid me, and was wroth, and he went on forwardly in the way of his heart. I have seen his ways, and will heal him: I will lead him also, and restore comforts unto him and to his mourners. I create the fruit of the lips; Peace, peace to him that is far off, and to him that is near, saith the LORD; and I will heal him. (Isaiah 57:15-19).
Yeshua, the matchless lamb of YHWH was in the beginning the Word from eternity to time and the flesh for the world to see, hear and touch. The garden of Eden was the Tabernacle for Adam and Eve, the place where they communed with YHWH. The Tabernacle was the presence of YHWH on earth for the Israelite. The Lord revealed to Isaiah (the seeing eye prophet ) that Yeshua would come to the earth and be the Presence of YHWH on earth again for a time. “Therefore the Lord himself shall give you a sign; Behold, a virgin shall conceive, and bear a son, and shall call his name Emmanuel. (Isaiah 7:14)” Yeshua being the Tabernacle of YHWH exemplified this throughout his ministry.
In the courtyard of the Tabernacle was the Bronze Alter where the blood offerings were made and the Bronze Laver where the Priest purified himself by the washing of his hands and feet before he entered into the Tabernacle. The first miracle that Yeshua performed at the beginning of his ministry was the changing of the water into new wine depicting that there is no remission of sin without the shedding of blood and after you have accepted the Word, repent from your sins and they will be will be washed away then you begin a new life, like the new wine. The old is passed away and now you have been made new by the washing and the regeneration of the Holy Spirit, restored back to the Father. Not by works of righteousness which we have done, but according to his mercy he saved us, by the washing of regeneration, and renewing of the Holy Ghost; (Titus 3:5). It is by receiving the indwelling of the Holy Spirit that we enter into the presence of YHWH.
Upon entering the Holy Place through the first set of curtains that were adorned with images of Cherubim like those who stood at the garden of Eden to keep mankind out, showing that only by purification of the blood of Yeshua and the washing of the word can you enter in. Inside of the Holy Place stood on the table of gold the The Bread of the Presence, a reminder of the covenant between YHWH and Israel. Yeshua, the bread of life is the source of life and the source of of our communion with YHWH. The Shew Bread portrays the life sustaining power of Yeshua. “And Jesus said unto them, I am the bread of life: he that cometh to me shall never hunger; and he that believeth on me shall never thirst. (John 6:35)”. Yeshua explained to the disciples that he is the source of life, the bread and manna (whatever you need) from heaven. He gave to the disciples the bread and the wine at the Last Supper. Yeshua cast out on a boat to speak to the multitude with the sea between Him and the people and explained to them the He is the bread of life, the manna from heaven.
¶ Then spake Jesus again unto them, saying, I am the light of the world: he that followeth me shall not walk in darkness, but shall have the light of life. (John 8:12).” The lamp stand in the Tabernacle represents Yeshua, the light of the world, our source of life and vision towards the presence of YHWH.
And the sun was darkened, and the veil of the temple was rent in the midst. ¶ And when Jesus had cried with a loud voice, he said, Father, into thy hands I commend my spirit: and having said thus, he gave up the ghost. (Luke 23:45-46). The veil in the Tabernacle was the last barrier, hiding the presence of YHWH from the world. The veil hiding the Holy of the Holies also had images of cherubim on it. The veil being torn represents the grace of YHWH being poured out on mankind and through the finished work of Yeshua we can now go boldly to the throne of grace and YHWH will touch you like he did David and bring you up out of the mire, whatever that mire might be, there is nothing difficult for YHWH, just trust and believe and he will restore you to glory.
YHWH restored mankind through Yeshua and the Holy Spirit
Testimony
I was down to my lowest state but trusted in YHWH
I looked to my left and they were against me
I looked to the right and had no help,
but now on my right hand there is strength
my enemies have been made my footstool
He has restored me to the place where he wants me to be
now I can see his beauty grace and eternity
