(Proverbs 1:1-6[KJV]) The proverbs of Solomon the son of David, king of Israel; To know wisdom and instruction; to perceive the words of understanding; To receive the instruction of wisdom, justice, and judgment, and equity; To give subtilty to the simple, to the young man knowledge and discretion. A wise man will hear, and will increase learning; and a man of understanding shall attain unto wise counsels: To understand a proverb, and the interpretation; the words of the wise, and their dark sayings.
(Matthew 13:10-15 [KJV]) And the disciples came, and said unto him, Why speakest thou unto them in parables? He answered and said unto them, Because it is given unto you to know the mysteries of the kingdom of heaven, but to them it is not given. For whosoever hath, to him shall be given, and he shall have more abundance: but whosoever hath not, from him shall be taken away even that he hath. Therefore speak I to them in parables: because they seeing see not; and hearing they hear not, neither do they understand. And in them is fulfilled the prophecy of Esaias, which saith, By hearing ye shall hear, and shall not understand. and seeing ye shall see, and shall not perceive: For this people’s heart is waxed gross, and their ears are dull of hearing, and their eyes they have closed. lest at any time they should see with their eyes, and hear with their ears, and should understand with their heart, and should be converted, and I should heal them.
On the surface it may appear that Yeshua is hiding spiritual truths from the people but in fact the truth is hidden from them because the carnal mind is an enmity against YHWH (Romans 8:7). It is an enemy and therefore rebels against anything that pertains to YHWH. Just as the Israelite rejected the Prophets who delivered the true word of YHWH, they also rebelled and rejected the word delivered by Yeshua HaMashiach. The same happens today when the Man or Woman of YHWH through revelation speaks, the carnal mind rejects it and follows his own vain imaginations. They would rather hear a lie than the truth having “itching ears” for something that sounds appealing to them. He contrives to justify his deafness to the true spiritual nature of word. The revelation is hid to those who have their own truth or preconceived notions. Many of which are drilled into him by unregenerate society and traditions of men and in the case of the Jews by their carnal religious teachers having a form of godliness but denying the real power and understanding of the laws, precepts and commandments of YHWH. They created their own interpretation of the Torah and did not listen to the Prophets. The carnal mind tends to justify itself, it seeks to exalt itself and it tends to defend itself of all of it’s idolatrous tendencies.
Spiritual perception requires seeing hearing and obeying. The causation from the exposure to one or any of these teachers for the seeker of truth is to lead the receiver into a deeper meditation beyond the superficial or carnal sense of the subject. The purpose of the visions, dreams, proverbs and parables are not to hide the truth but to unlock the truth for truth seekers. They are given to us to give us clarity and to sharpen our ability to navigate our journey through the wilderness of this present life. They are also gifted to us by Yeshua to move us to meditation of the “word of YHWH”. We find clarity of rudimentary (worldly temporal) things through complete thought and logic. A wise General goes to war only after creating a well thought out strategy, wise investments are made through critical research, leaders of countries make decisions through wise counsel. That is the wisdom of the world but we need the wisdom that comes from YHWH and he instructs us in James 1:5 to ask for wisdom and YHWH will give it liberally. The asking requires prayer and patience meaning you must open yourself up to him by getting more deeply in the Spirit and separating from the world. Go to your secret closet and YHWH will pour into you by your meditation. Then out of your belly will flow rivers of living water, the Word and wisdom.
Meditation for the Christian is not sitting in a yoga position humming a tone but it requires humbling yourself in the presence of YHWH praying in the Spirit and speaking his word or even groaning. We know by the scripture that YHWH hears and the Ruach HaKodesh helps us with groanings that cannot be uttered. When the Prophets, particularity Ezekiel and Daniel received visions from YHWH, they were in prayer and meditations (reciting the word of YHWH). It is interesting to see that they both were near a river, Ezekiel by the river Chebar and Daniel by the river Ulai when they received visions, indicating that they were in a quiet peaceful place seeking the wisdom of YHWH. In the Hebrew, the act of meditating means to growl, moan, utter and speak ( יֶהְגֶּה)
David, a man who loves YHWH often meditated. (Psalms 1:2 [KJV]) But his delight is in the law of the LORD; and in his law doth he meditate day and night. Yeshua resorted to the wilderness or to the garden to pray.
Yeshua's interactions with the Jews and in Acts 16 shows that the Jews were so locked in to their religion, they could not perceive the spiritual. All of our peace abundance prosperity and eternal life is tied into seeing listening and obeying the Ruach HaKodesh. The message to the Churches and the whole body of HaMashiach is to acknowledge and yield to the Ruach HaKodesh; our guide on this journey in this life through to the doors of eternity. When we do that we are more than conquerors, we are overcomers. In the book of the Revelations (Sodot), the messenger of Yeshua exhorts John in a vision when he was isolated on the isle of Patmos. The messenger told him “(Revelation of John 1:3 [KJV]) Blessed is he that readeth, and they that heareth the words of this prophecy, and keep those things which are written therein: for the time is at hand. Read, hear and keep (do) the things he began to tell him. Foremost, in all of those things “he that has an ear, let him hear what the Spirit says to the Churches. Let him see hear and obey. When you see, you will know and when you know you will obey.
These are the judgments and promises that the Spirit conveyed to John for the Churches.
