Reference Scripture:
And God blessed them, saying, Be fruitful, and multiply, and fill the waters in the seas, and let fowl multiply in the earth. (Genesis 1:22)
Wherefore I also, after I heard of your faith in the Lord Jesus, and love unto all the saints, Cease not to give thanks for you, making mention of you in my prayers; That the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of glory, may give unto you the spirit of wisdom and revelation in the knowledge of him: The eyes of your understanding being enlightened; that ye may know what is the hope of his calling, and what the riches of the glory of his inheritance in the saints, And what is the exceeding greatness of his power to us-ward who believe, according to the working of his mighty power, (Ephesians 1:15-19)
The blessing of the LORD, it maketh rich, and he addeth no sorrow with it. (Proverbs 10:22)
When the Lord blesses, He fills and he completes. When he created the Heavens and the earth he filled all things and made them rich with life, he blessed it and created it to multiply. The blessing of the Lord made the world prosperous, he filled it and made it rich in beauty and full of peace. He enriched the souls of Adam and Eve and through the power of redemption by the blood of the Lord Yeshua he filled us and made us rich in his likeness again. The sin sick soul is empty of the riches of redemption and the knowledge of the Almighty, the wicked one has blinded the eyes of their understanding. In the house of the righteous is much treasure: but in the revenues of the wicked is trouble. (Proverbs 15:6).
Some may think that here is a contradiction in the holy scripture when Jesus says to be poor in spirit verses being spiritual rich. Just as the body has many parts the spirit of man has many attributes. Poor in spirit means possessing a measure of humility. Rich in spirit is having a genuine connective-ness to the kingdom of YHWH and the rights of heir-ship.
The Hebrew word for blessed can also mean cursed. Your blessing can be a curse if you don’t act on it with adoration and in the will of YHWH. The manna from YHWH in the desert was abused by some of the Hebrews and it became a curse to them. Blessing is a three lane highway. YHWH can bless or curse. We bless YHWH meaning we give him adoration. We adore and Praise him. We cannot curse the Lord like Job’s wife tried to get him to do but men curse each other by speaking evil, putting tricks in the bag, covetousness and putting stumbling blocks in another’s way. Likewise you can bless each other. Speaking well and doing righteous deeds. Provoking one another to Love. Your treasure is where your (heart) is. The manna became moldy and inedible. Covetousness is a place of usefulness to anyone, the hoarder has mold, infestation and sickness in his home and in his heart.
Blessed are they which do hunger and thirst after righteousness: for they shall be filled. (Matthew 5:6). Many people today don’t “hunger and thirst” for right standing with YHWH. They are looking for proof and a sign. They hunger and thirst for worldly things not seeking to do the will of YHWH. They seek to be wealthy but not righteous. Yeshua told the unbelievers that there would be no sign except for the sign of Jonah. Having a hunger and thirst for righteousness will cause you to look deeper, to seek more thoroughly not giving up and not losing faith and hope until you find favor in his eyes. His will and word. It’s this diligence that Paul speaks of in the letter of Paul to the Hebrews. “But without faith it is impossible to please him: for he that cometh to God must believe that he is, and that he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him. (Hebrews 11:6)” The Greek word for diligence means to search out, investigate, crave, demand, (by Hebraism) worship:inquire, to seek after (carefully, diligently).Solomon spoke of diligence, “He that diligently seeketh good procureth favour: but he that seeketh mischief, it shall come unto him. (Proverbs 11:27)”. The Hebrew word for this diligence means:properly, to dawn, i.e. (figuratively) be (up) early at any task (with the implication of earnestness); by extension, to search for (with painstaking):--(do something) betimes, enquire early, rise (seek) betimes, seek diligently) early, in the morning). If you notice in both the Hebrew and the Greek the word diligent is married to the action of seek. Yeshua tells us to “¶ Ask, and it shall be given you; seek, and ye shall find; knock, and it shall be opened unto you: For every one that asketh receiveth; and he that seeketh findeth; and to him that knocketh it shall be opened. (Matthew 7:7-8)”
