Stay hidden and keep watch

This is not a statement of run and hide but it is a battle cry

He that dwelleth in the secret place of the most High shall abide under the shadow of the Almighty. I will say of the LORD, He is my refuge and my fortress: my God; in him will I trust. Surely he shall deliver thee from the snare of the fowler, and from the noisome pestilence. He shall cover thee with his feathers, and under his wings shalt thou trust: his truth shall be thy shield and buckler. Thou shalt not be afraid for the terror by night; nor for the arrow that flieth by day; Nor for the pestilence that walketh in darkness; nor for the destruction that wasteth at noonday. A thousand shall fall at thy side, and ten thousand at thy right hand; but it shall not come nigh thee. Only with thine eyes shalt thou behold and see the reward of the wicked. Because thou hast made the LORD, which is my refuge, even the most High, thy habitation; There shall no evil befall thee, neither shall any plague come nigh thy dwelling. For he shall give his angels charge over thee, to keep thee in all thy ways. They shall bear thee up in their hands, lest thou dash thy foot against a stone. Thou shalt tread upon the lion and adder: the young lion and the dragon shalt thou trample under feet. Because he hath set his love upon me, therefore will I deliver him: I will set him on high, because he hath known my name. He shall call upon me, and I will answer him: I will be with him in trouble; I will deliver him, and honour him. With long life will I satisfy him, and shew him my salvation. (Psalms 91:1-16)

Let no man deceive you with vain words: for because of these things cometh the wrath of God upon the children of disobedience. Be not ye therefore partakers with them. For ye were sometimes darkness, but now are ye light in the Lord: walk as children of light: (For the fruit of the Spirit is in all goodness and righteousness and truth;) Proving what is acceptable unto the Lord. And have no fellowship with the unfruitful works of darkness, but rather reprove them. For it is a shame even to speak of those things which are done of them in secret. But all things that are reproved are made manifest by the light: for whatsoever doth make manifest is light. Wherefore he saith, Awake thou that sleepest, and arise from the dead, and Christ shall give thee light. See then that ye walk circumspectly, not as fools, but as wise, Redeeming the time, because the days are evil. Wherefore be ye not unwise, but understanding what the will of the Lord is. And be not drunk with wine, wherein is excess; but be filled with the Spirit; (Ephesians 5:6-18)

If you take a historical architectural journey to places where there has been a division of men and where battles occurred you will find fortresses and walls were built with watch towers to protect the citizens and to keep watch over the territory.  Because we are in a spiritual battle we need this type of protection.  Paul tells us that we wrestle/contend against spiritual wickedness and we need spiritual protection.  Psalm 91 ensures us that YHWH protects us against the wickedness of the world if we trust in him.  He is our strong tower and we should abide/live and have our being in him.  He is our refuge and fortress.  There are spiritual forces battering against our souls trying to breech our position in YHWH constantly.  They show up as snares, traps and temptations.  They also appear in the form of persecution but Yeshua has showed us the way to be victorious.  Trusting in YHWH and depending on his provision is not a defensive posture.  We contend for the Faith and he is our defender. The Psalmist is prophetically reminding us that YHWH is always there.  There are times when we are under attack and it seems that the battle is lost, the attack could be continual ailments, financial troubles or fractured relationships that seem never to repair. Although theses things might occur in your life they will not overtake you because Yeshua has placed you above the evils of the world and they cannot overtake you.  This is his promise to us.  Nothing cab pluck you out of his hand.  The only way trouble overcomes a believer is when the believer is not hearing what the Ruach HaKodesh is saying because it is he that leads us and guides us into all things that are true.  

The enemy’s tactic is to deceive.  He is the father of lies which is why we must earnestly strive to stand in the Holy Place and abide under the shadow of the Almighty.  Paul tells us to “walk  circumspectly” which means [*StrongsGreek*] 199ἀκριβῶς ajkribw's akribos {ak-ree-boce'}adverb from the same as 196; exactly:--circumspectly, diligently, perfect(-ly).  The only way to do this is to walk in the Spirit and you won’t fulfill the lust of the flesh.  You won’t be deceived when the lies come, the deception, when the false pretense and selfishness has dug a ditch for you, you won’t fall in it. When you are hidden in the shadow of the Almighty you have become children of the light and not of the night, the darkness will be exposed in your presence and those who dig ditches for you will fall in it themselves. Behold, he travaileth with iniquity, and hath conceived mischief, and brought forth falsehood. He made a pit, and digged it, and is fallen into the ditch which he made. (Psalms 7:14-15)

Be careful for nothing, we are solders who must always be on the watch, not just soldiers but warriors.  Paul and Peter admonishes us fervently to watch because the enemy is constantly at work but we are not prey, you are not a wimpy victim, you are not unarmed, you have the power of Heaven at your disposal if you have courageous trust in YHWH.  You provide the Faith, YHWH provides the armament. You provide the obedience, YHWH will give to you in abundance everything that you need to fight the battle.  Yeshua has set you up for victory.  The fortress or citadel is a high place above the city and around it with full view of everything within it and everything around it.  YHWH knows what you need and what you want, how you feel and where you stand.  The tower on the fortess is heavily armored and there are reserves down below.  If the enemy attacks the defense is already hardened.  YHWH has already given you what you need to succeed and his grace never runs out.  If you feel you are running low, just ask the father and he will provide.

¶ And the Lord said, Simon, Simon, behold, Satan hath desired to have you, that he may sift you as wheat: But I have prayed for thee, that thy faith fail not: and when thou art converted, strengthen thy brethren. (Luke 22:31-32)

The thief cometh not, but for to steal, and to kill, and to destroy: I am come that they might have life, and that they might have it more abundantly. (John 10:10)  

But the end of all things is at hand: be ye therefore sober, and watch unto prayer. (I Peter 4:7)

For the oppression of the poor, for the sighing of the needy, now will I arise, saith the LORD; I will set him in safety from him that puffeth at him. (Psalms 12:5)
